IIHS Top Safety Pick Awards

IIHS Top Safety Pick Awards Explained

In order to earn the coveted 2023 Top Safety Pick award, a vehicle must receive “Good” crashworthiness ratings in all test modes, including the rigorous passenger-side small overlap test. In addition, a top-rated vehicle must offer front crash prevention which earns an “Advanced” or “Superior” rating in both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian testing as well as “Good” or “Acceptable” ratings for available headlights. Top Safety Pick + (TSP+) rated vehicles must achieve the same “Good” or “Acceptable” rating for their standard headlights. Other Honda models are expected to receive top safety ratings from the IIHS in 2023 as the Institute completes further testing. In other news, every Honda model which has been fully evaluated in the NHTSA’s 2023 model year NCAP testing has received a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score**.

A total of five 2023 Honda models have been selected by the IIHS as Top Safety Picks. Honda Sensing® is now available or standard on every Honda automobile model, and there are nearly three million Honda vehicles on U.S. roads today equipped with this groundbreaking collection of safety and driver-assistive technologies.
